Diaper Rash

Image
This sometimes happens around a baby's bottom, it usually happens during a child's first year and can be very uncomfortable for the baby. What It Looks Like The skin looks irritated and puffy. The affected skin may also feel warm when you touch it. What Causes It Wetness - Leaving your baby in a soiled diaper for too long. When urine mixes with the bacteria in the baby's stool it forms ammonia, this irritates the skin. Frequent stooling can also cause rashes, so note this if your baby has diarrhea or frequent stools. Sensitive Skin - Baby's skin is generally sensitive, others are even more sensitive to the fragrance or chemicals in disposable diapers, some are even sensitive to the detergent used to wash cloth diapers. New Food or Starting Solids - Any change in your baby's diet can change the makeup of his/her stool, thus irritating the skin. Bacteria or Yeast Infection - This can happen if your baby is taking antibiotics, it can also happen if...

Naturally Beautiful - Your Healthy Face

Image
Taking care of your face helps keep it healthy and vibrant so you don't need to use many face care products that contain chemicals (most don't work anyway). With only a few simple steps you are on your way to a naturally healthy and beautiful lovely face. Keep Your Face Clean Wash your face regularly with a mild face soap (check that you are not using a detergent-based soap) at least once a day, or in the morning and the evening to remove oil, dirt and makeup which clog your pores and let bacteria attack - leading to breakout, irritation and dullness. Use warm water to wash your face as it helps to open your pores, allowing the active ingredients in the soap enter into the skin and do its work. NEVER sleep with your makeup on, always wash it off. Try our Activated Charcoal and Tea Tree Face Soap which cleanses and removes impurities while helping to keep the bacteria away, read more about it here . Scrub Your Face Scrubbing (aka exfoliating) allows for a younger ...

Face Serum

Image
A Face Serum delivers rich, potent ingredients directly into the skin, it is a face-care product that is applied to the face after cleansing it, but before applying a moisturizer. Serums are made of very tiny molecules, so your skin absorbs them faster and deeply, whereas a moisturizer has larger molecules so they form a barrier on this skin (which is good for locking in moisture, but may prevent the "good stuff" from going in). Because serums are richer in content, they do tend to be costlier than moisturizers. However because only a small amount is needed per use, a 10 ml bottle may last for months when used appropriately. The Pugtha Face Serum is simple and unique, containing only natural ingredients and giving you only the nourishment your skin needs, less is more! It is made of only 3 ingredients: Argan, Evening Primrose and Frankincense Essential Oils. It helps improve the appearance of the skin, giving you a beautiful and radiant look. Argan Oil Produc...

Tea Tree Oil

Image
Essential Oils are extracted from plants; the leaves, flowers, stem, bark, roots or peel. These oils capture the scent and flavor, known as "the essence", of the plant. They are obtained using either steam distillation (using steam and/or water) or cold-pressing with a machine. They have been used for thousands of years to make cosmetics, medicine, perfume and more recently, aromatherapy products. Each essential oil contains various compounds with unique qualities. You may use them aromatically (by inhaling through the nose or mouth) or topically (rubbing into the skin). It is believed that inhaling the aroma from essential oils stimulates an area of the brain which controls emotion, sense of smell and long term memory. This also affects some functions like breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. Essential oils are concentrates and should never be used without first diluting them, before inhaling or applying on the skin, they must be combined with an oil or butter (c...

Taking Care of Baby's Skin...:::

Image
Keeping your baby's skin soft and healthy begins with understanding it's needs and unique characteristics. African baby skin is sensitive and can get dry, or have dark spots (hyper pigmentation). Within the first two to three weeks of life, baby's skin tends to get darker. Bathing cleanses your baby's skin, but it also removes the natural oils the body produces from the skin, this can make the skin dry. Dry skin can become itchy and uncomfortable. Until your baby is over 3 months of age, try not to use any product that contains fragrance since it may irritate the skin. The detergent you use for your baby's laundry should also be mild, and you will have to rinse it off thoroughly to avoid leaving behind any skin irritant. I usually rinse off a newborn's laundry 3 times after a wash. Using a gentle moisturizer regularly can help soothe and protect baby's skin. You should use a product that does not contain alcohol or perfume since these can dry ...
