Tea Tree Oil

Essential Oils are extracted from plants; the leaves, flowers, stem, bark, roots or peel. These oils capture the scent and flavor, known as "the essence", of the plant. They are obtained using either steam distillation (using steam and/or water) or cold-pressing with a machine. They have been used for thousands of years to make cosmetics, medicine, perfume and more recently, aromatherapy products.

Each essential oil contains various compounds with unique qualities. You may use them aromatically (by inhaling through the nose or mouth) or topically (rubbing into the skin). It is believed that inhaling the aroma from essential oils stimulates an area of the brain which controls emotion, sense of smell and long term memory. This also affects some functions like breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.

Essential oils are concentrates and should never be used without first diluting them, before inhaling or applying on the skin, they must be combined with an oil or butter (commonly referred to as a carrier oil). Examples of carrier oils are coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil or shea butter. When used with caution, essential oils are generally safe, however, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use them without first asking for professional advice. Essential oils should generally not be used for children below 2 years old.
There are over 90 types of essential oils, each with its potential benefit. One of the most popular is Tea Tree Essential Oil.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is derived from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia tree, a small tree native to Australia, and popularly known to have antibacterial, anti fungal, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, as well as to promote healing. This is not the tree used to make black or green tea.
Native Australians use tea tree by crushing the leaves and inhaling them to treat coughs and colds, or applying to the skin to heal wounds.

Tea tree essential oil may be useful in reducing bad odor, stimulate the immune system, promote healing, fight harmful organisms, soothe insect bites, fight skin irritation and acne. Like every essential oil, it should be used only after being diluted in a carrier oil.

The Pugtha Pure Tea Tree Oil is pure 100% top-grade tea tree essential oil derived from the leaves and twigs of the tea tree plant using steam distillation, and diluted in fractionated coconut oil, so its ready to use on the skin without worrying about dilution math.
Fractionated Coconut Oil is simply coconut oil that has some of its fat removed, making it lighter and more stable. It is tasteless and odorless, and it helps the tea tree essential oil get easily absorbed.
The oil is packaged in a convenient bottle with a roller-ball top to make application easy, reducing waste.

Uses

For acne bumps, minor cuts and scrapes - wash the area with plain soap and water, pat dry and apply oil once or twice daily.
