Powders...:::

We definitely use powders, or have at least heard about them, but what are they really? They are usually made of minerals like mica, coloring agents and some binding agents.
Powder is one of the basic makeup product we use on a daily basis, and sometimes we carry it around in our purses or bags.

So why do we use Powders?

  • To give us a matte finish,  making the face look 'fresh'.
  • Powder can make the texture of the face appear finer since it makes the pores look smaller.
  • To 'set' our foundation.
  • To make our foundation last.
  • Removes any sticky appearance created by a foundation or concealer.
  • Makes applying eyeshadow and blusher easier as the skin is silky smooth.

Things to Note when Wearing Powder

  • Make sure that the powder you use does not change the color of your foundation. Thus if you use a foundation, do not choose a powder that contains too much color, especially pink.
  • There are essentially 2 forms of powder: loose and pressed. There is also translucent powder.

Loose Powder

Loose powders normally come in plastic containers with an inner perforated cover to allow just a little of the powder come out at a time, so you don't waste it. It comes with either a powder puff or a sponge for application.
This powder only comes in a few shades; usually 3 shades (light, medium and dark), although some brands may have more shades. However, it is very light and does not build up on the face, so excess amounts can simply be dusted off with a brush.

Pressed Powder

Pressed powders are usually packaged in a metal container encased in a plastic container, and comes with either a sponge or puff applicator, and most times with a mirror. It comes in a wide range of colors and is more handy for your handbag since it rarely pours out, so you can carry it around for touch-ups.
Choose a shade that is close to your foundation and use it sparingly.

Note that pressed powder builds up so avoid repeated applications. A perfect time to touch up will be after you have washed your face during the day, for instance after a round of ablution.

Translucent Powder

This is powder that is made without coloring, allowing your own skin to show through it. It helps to set your foundation without changing its color, sometimes it is called Invisible Powder. Translucent powder is very light and easy to apply, and it comes in either the loose or pressed form. however, some manufacturers still add a little color into this type of powder, so if you really want to avoid any color changes, go for Professional Translucent Powder.

Brands that make great powders include Sleek Makeup, Zaron Makeup, The Body Shop and Maybelline New York. Order for yours here or on our online store on Kaymu.com and search for seller "Adonmu".
Its really a relief when you know you are buying the genuine product, isn't it?...:::
