August Project - 12 Months of Knitting with Adonmu

Welcome to the August project!

This month we’ll discover how a simple slip stitch can create beautiful geometric designs. By slipping selected stitches instead of knitting them, we create clean diagonal lines that gradually open into a large diamond before closing again.

This technique looks impressive but is surprisingly easy, making it perfect for knitters ready to explore decorative stitch patterns.

Finished Size

Approximately 15 × 15 cm (depending on your yarn and tension).

Skill Level

Confident Beginner / Easy Intermediate

You Will Learn

  • Working a slip stitch (Slip 1 purlwise with yarn held at the back)
  • Reading a repeating stitch pattern
  • Creating geometric motifs
  • Maintaining neat stockinette fabric
  • Keeping an even garter stitch border

Encouragement

“Beautiful knitting isn’t about complicated stitches. It’s about simple stitches worked with patience and consistency.”

Take your time, enjoy every row, and watch your diamond appear one stitch at a time.

Happy knitting!

— Adonmu
