Concealers

This is a product made to cover areas foundation was not able to cover, such as blemishes, dark rings around the eyes, scars, sun-burns and so on.
When getting a concealer, be sure to get one that is a shade or two lighter than your foundation, but with the same undertone as your foundation. Click here to find out more about foundation.

There are three basic forms in which concealers are made:

Liquid

Usually packaged in a bottle, with a pump or a wand applicator, or in a tube so you can squeeze out.
This form easily blends in, but it does not provide enough coverage to completely conceal blemishes. So you can use them if you don't have much to conceal.

Stick

Comes in a tube you can twist, much like a lipstick.
It generally provides good coverage, however it is a bit more difficult to blend. When you try to blend it in you may need to apply some pressure, so this is not a good concealer for the delicate skin around the eye, but perfect for all other areas.

Cream

This normally comes in a small jar or as a pallet with other color correctors, and has a smother, softer consistency. We will be covering correctors shortly.
Mostly used by makeup artists, the cream concealer has the advantages of both the Liquid and the Stick concealers: thick enough to provide full coverage while being soft for smooth blending.

Other fun uses for Concealers

Apart from covering up those blemishes, applying concealer on the eyelid before eyeshadow application makes the colors blend easily and last longer.
You can also apply them on your lips before any lip color for the same effect.
