Wedding Favour Ideas - June 2022

Image
The wedding season is creeping up on us with all its glamour. It’s only fitting that one should have a unique wedding with unique gifts. Our featured bride in this month’s box is Fatimah who tied the knot with Mohammad on the 27th. We had favour packs for the Mothers’ in attendance as well as for the Bride’s maids. Each pack spoke to the uniqueness of its recipient and we topped it all with extras - candy and confectionery to tickle guests’ sweet tooth.  The pack for mothers contained our iconic Moisture Lip Balm, branded kitchen towel and match box; while the bridal packs carried a face towel, scented votive candle and the Moisture Lip balm. Items were customised to fit the wedding theme, and the bridal packages took it a step further by adding the names of each recipient to give it that special touch.  What do you have planned for an occasion, let’s give you ideas that fit both your theme and pocket.  Wishing you Fatimah a happy, blessed marriage filled with love, peace and underst

Magnificent May

Planning for May 2022 - 3 mins read It’s May already, we are getting well into the second quarter of the year. Time to review all you set out to achieve by the end of the year and see how far you’ve gone, what changes you need done and what improvements you have to make.  We have 5 Notable Dates for the month of May as follows: 1st - Workers’/May Day. A public holiday, which being a Sunday means its work-free day on Monday the 2nd. It’s a day set to appreciate the working population for contributions to the Nation   2nd - ‘Eid-ul-Fitr Day aka “Sallah Day”, when Muslim faithfuls celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast. And no, this isn’t the Sallah you get to eat mutton! This is a work-free day extended to the next day as well (2nd and 3rd). 15th - Mother’s’ Day, that’s the second Mothers’ Day celebrated each year to honour and show love to mothers. Usually marked with sending messages, gifts or flowers to mothers   25th - Africa Day, a day set out to celebrate the people of Africa, their

Achieving Your Goals - Getting it Done

Image
5 minutes read The new year usually makes you want to set a target or resolution - something you want to do or a change you want to make. It usually starts off great but sometimes we drop it before the year is through, without accomplishing the goal.  Then, the following year you still find yourself wanting to do, create, have, give or experience that same thing, or even something bigger. So you set yet more goals and may probably not get them done. It happens to the best of us but there's a way - a proven way that has worked for decades.  I'm here to simplify it for you so we can have it done together - This year is all about accomplishments.  Before I tell you how to achieve your goals, let me quickly give you a refresher on what goals are and how to set the right goals for success - because that's the first step to success.  Goal Setting Goals are simply the things we want to achieve . We direct our efforts towards the goals, and use them to determine our success.  Goa

I Made This - Summer Drawstring Pouch

How to make a Piñata

Image
It’s great to be back with something fresh and creative this rainy season. Piñatas are vessels filled with gifts and treats to share with people at an event. The vessel is breakable and guests take turns to hit it in till it smashes and spills the goodies for the eager guests. This tradition may have started out in China where clay pots filled with seeds were smashed towards a great harvest, or with the Aztec who had it as part of a celebration. Party Piñatas today are made of cardboard and filled with candy and small toys for the guests to enjoy. We recently made a Unicorn shaped Piñata for a 10 year old birthday party and will share the making experience with you. Materials Needed: Carton or Strong Cardboard Various colours of cardboard Craft Tissue - in the main colour of your piñata  Crepe Paper Paper Strong twine or rope Glue gun and sticks PVA Glue Glue stick Sticky tape Steps: Draw the outline of the shape for your piñata, in our case we drew the outline of the unicorn, skipping
